Mexico

Mexico brings back the romance in me. These purple afternoons, lazy music and the dark eyes of the people, showing generations of pride in their survival. Politically correct is unknown for the people are concerned with the humanity around them, the family, the land, their life is simple. laughter is their reward.
I am alone here and feel sadness around me. It is this country that always brings me back…back where it all began.

Bora Bora

The darkness came in slowly, fading out the gold color and
Purple shadows on my canvas.
I’m sitting on the veranda of my island hut, watching the strands of lighting pop off and on beyond the reef.
Today I met a beautiful, young Vahine and tonight she’s posing nude on the couch.
Its quiet now, but soon the drums will start reminding me of just how far away I am.
The rhythm, the sound of the waves and the still sounds wandering up through the night, even the ice in my glass of rum, all add to the romantic mood that I hope to transfer onto my canvas.
Gone are the rules and conventions of the past.
What’s real is here…my paints, my canvas, melting ice,
and a beautiful body, stretched out, inviting me
To paint, to live.
