I was born in Hannibal, Missouri. My father was a photographer, and my mother was a pianist.
I drew pictures all through elementary and high school. I went to the Ringling School of Art and received a BFA in painting.I then went on and got an MFA in drawing from the Guanajuato University in San Miguel de Allende.
Along the way through art schools I supported myself by playing the guitar and singing in clubs and bars.
In Mexico I really got into singing and song writing when I formed the group,”Parrot”performing in large auditoriums.
From Mexico I moved to the Southwest playing music and painting outdoors.
From writing music I went to writing commercials and small documentaries.
I opened a large studio in Durango,Colorado and produced, directed and wrote a major documentary on the Navajo people.
It was in this studio I also started my painting career in earnest.
Influenced by my musical past, I concentrated on paintings of jazz musicians on and off the stage. I had numerous one man shows around the world meeting many of my musical “Idols”.
After my film was completed and released I traveled and lived around the world renting apartments and painting in Brazil, Mexico,Paris,Italy, the West Indies and the South Pacific islands.
I now travel and divide my time in studios in Florida and Colorado. My life is rich in colors, music love and loss. I derive my spirit from the adventure of the journey, letting God direct me to my destination.
